Caring for Tires

Car tire pressure is one of those things that we do not think too much about until we have a flat tire. However, you should always remember that the suspension, body, seats and everything else that is inside or part of the car ride on the tire pressure. That is why everyone who has a car should know how to measure tire pressure. You should know that a certain tire needs to be refilled before it starts to show. You can do this by listening to your car, and feel how it behaves when driving. You should also know how to inflate a tire, and you should have a portable tire inflator.

The first thing to do

Tire information on the car door

The first thing is to know how much tire pressure should go to your tires. While most car tires use 35 psi, it is not the standard in all cars. It is much better to eliminate the guesswork from your tire inflation. On the door jamb on the driver’s side, you will find all the crucial vehicle information displayed there. That way, you will find information about the cargo volume, the maximum tire pressure that the manufacturer recommended for your car and many more. Tire markings only show the maximum pressure for the tires, but not for the car.

Filling the tires

Checking the car tire

It is recommended that you check your car tires for pressure when the weather is cold, or early in the morning. The warm temperatures can cause some variance in the pressure. If it is warmer, then the tire pressure will be high. This is only logical because black retains heat and the tires are black. This means when it is cold is the best time to check the tire pressure. Winter and fall are the best times to check your car tire pressure.

Uncap the valve stems. They are usually covered by small caps that prevent the dust from entering. You can then use the tire gauge to find out the amount of pressure in the tires. To check the pressure, press the tire gauge on the valve stem hard. It will show you the readings on the meter For a compact car, it should be about 35. If it reads too low below that, something is definitely wrong or perhaps you did not use the tire gauge right. If it reads too high, repeat the process again.

Filling the tires is easy. You just need to press the tip of the air hose to the valve stem and the air starts to get into the tire. Sometimes, the air can leak. You will know its leaking when you hear a loud hissing sound. Usually, this happens because of an incorrect connection between the valve stem and the air hose tip. Check it again.

As the air gets in, keep checking the gauge. Once you have enough pressure, you can take the air hose tip-off and lock the dust caps in place. You should also check the pressure level of all the tires. It is important that you make sure all the tires are at the same level to enhance your driving experience.

Living Solo

There is not an iota of doubt about how living alone can improve your life. You see, when I decided to go the solo way, I did not think I would make it, having come from a large family and being a very social person. But a few days into living alone, no boyfriend, no keeping in constant contact with family … and I was hooked. I thought I would start to feel desperately lonely in a few months. They came and went, and then I thought it would happen in a few years… it didn’t. After many years of living with my parents, brothers and sisters, cousins and uncles and aunts who popped in every holiday, I never knew I was this ready to go do life alone.

Having experienced this first hand, I can say living alone for some time has many benefits. Here are a few of them:

You enjoy a good selfish time

There is good and bad selfishness. Good selfishness is when you value yourself too much such that you can actually love your own company. You love your time, you can leave the party without asking for permission, without worrying whether a roommate is coming along. Besides, when you wake up in the morning, you do not have to worry about who came and who did not come home last night. You will just dust up, do your thing and go to work.

If you can live with yourself, you can live with other people

What many people do not know is that if you cannot live with yourself, you cannot live with another person. Thus, I would recommend that you take some time off living with other people and try to see what you can do with yourself. Will you be disciplined enough to handle all that liberty? You should try and find out. If you do not love your own company and cannot stand to be with yourself for just a couple of days, most likely other people cannot stand your company. Everyone should take some time off living with others and see how well they can do living with themselves.

Think and act faster

If you have a business and you are the only one on the board, you can be able to make decisions faster, rather than when you have to consult widely. It is the same case when you are living alone. You think and act fast. There are not many people around for you to consult and so you can make even the most important decisions faster. Many times, decisions made alone hold more water than consulted decisions. By passing such decisions regarding your life, you can learn to trust yourself much more.

Emotional maturity is assured

When anxiety strikes and you are living alone, when loneliness comes, you only have yourself to commiserate with. You cannot go calling your mom and dumping all of your emotional baggage on her. You will have to learn how to handle your emotional challenges alone. If you have been dumped, you will handle the heartbreak alone. This is how people grow.

You can create better friendships and relationship

Too much familiarity breeds contempt. Thus, when you live with friends and family every day, you may not respect them as much as you should. When you live alone, you learn to appreciate people much more. You will love staying prepared and expectant to meet family and friends in those extended family gatherings.
